Homemade Play Dough — Quick and Easy Version

This is a quick and easy version of homemade play dough which does not require any cooking or expensive ingredients. It's perfect for those spur-of-the-moment projects which require more play dough than you have on hand, or a squirmy toddler who needs something to play with. The downside to this recipe is that it dries out pretty quickly and will not last long, so don't make it too far ahead of time. This recipe will make about three cups of dough.

1 ½ cup flour
¾ cup salt
1 ½ T. oil
½ cup warm water

Mix all ingredients in a medium bowl. You may need a little extra water on hand in case the original amount is not enough. You can begin mixing with a spoon but will need to get your hands on it at the end to mix it smoothly. Add food coloring if desired.
